DIY Spring Door Decor

Hi again! I'm going to share a DIY Spring door decor project I recently made for my boyfriend, David.   My biggest challenge for this project was giving it a masculine feel. Whether or not I succeeded...you be the judge!

Those are fresh branches from a bush. You can use faux ones as well.
Have a good night!

Spring is in the air!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I feel as though I haven't posted in ages!  I have a lot of Spring decor projects on my list and today I finally had the chance to get a few done.  I made a trip to Michael's to get material to make a Spring wreath.  I was inspired by this picture on Pinterest.

Materials
grapevine wreath
faux flowers

wooden initial
ribbon
hot glue gun

Process
Cut off branches of the silk flowers and faux berries (leave the stems long for the weaving)
To your liking, insert the pieces onto the wreath by weaving them through the branches
Attach the initial using hot glue
Tie a piece of ribbon vertically around the top of the wreath (hide the knot in the back)
Lastly, slip a longer piece of ribbon horizontally under the first ribbon loop to create a hanging hook

Voila!

You can make this simple wreath too! For me, picking out which flowers to use was the longest part.
Tomorrow I'm going to share the second project I completed!

Until then,

Signs of Spring

I'm loving this beautiful weather!  Every morning on my way to the train, I walk by a small grocery store that has flowers outside for sale.  I've been eying the forsythia branches for a while, and with today's warm weather I could not resist finally buying them! I may be jumping the gun...but goodbye winter branches...hello spring flowers!

I can't wait until all the buds bloom! They're going to be so cheery!
I hope you enjoy this great weather while it last!

Organizing Tip for Ribbon and Yarn

Happy Friday! Just a quick post to share an organizing tip that I saw on Pintrest last night.  I've been looking for a way to organize my little strips of ribbon and yarn that I have left over from projects, gifts, etc. I am so happy I came across this idea! All you need are clothespins.

Simply wrap your pieces of ribbon or yarn around the middle of the clothespin, and then clip the end!

I placed mine into a little box.

Have a great weekend! (If you like what you see, join my blog or follow me via e-mail by checking out the right margin of this page.)
